Work/ School Balance

I’ve been quiet lately on here for a few reasons. I had to finish up my semester at school. I’m glad it’s over. I need a break. There was a lot of reading and writing, and sometimes you just need a break.

The other thing that’s been keeping me quiet is my surgery. I spent a lot of energy and time trying to figure out the insurance. It was a nightmare trying to get it all straight. I had to pay to get clearance for the surgery because my doctor wasn’t in network. I had to pay for blood tests and copay to get clearance from my primary. All of this happened before the surgery was approved. My surgery was yesterday, and I finally got the approval last Thursday. My extra time went towards getting my house ready.

My bunion surgery was a success. I was discharged from the surgery center a little after 4. I am on pain meds, and I’m going to try to go off of the strong stuff by Friday, if possible. I hate taking the stuff. I will keep taking the anti-inflammatory for a while, though. The pain isn’t terrible when sitting, but when I try to walk somewhere, it hurts… a lot.

I’m too tired and slightly loopy, so reading and writing aren’t an option until my brain is working a little better. Once it is, I have shelves of books to read for pleasure and research for my thesis. I’m out of work for at least 4 weeks as my foot heals. Maybe I’ll have time to finish edits on Paranormal Academy 2, and maybe I can figure out what the title will be.

I’m going back to being bored and watching television.
