A Whirlwind

These past few weeks have been a little tough, so sorry for the delay in posting. I’ve been between phone calls, reading, work, school, writing, and appointments. So here’s the update/

My foot is finally getting fixed. Okay, so my surgery has been scheduled for my left foot to have the bunion repaired, which has become a problem. It’s been hurting more and more. I don’t think I realized how bad it was until the right foot started getting better. The doctor is going to shave bone from the top of the big toe knuckle and the side while putting a screw in it. My bones don’t sit the best or something. I’m hoping I’m not out of work for more than six weeks, but we’ll see. So I’ve been figuring out insurance stuff, work stuff, disability stuff, and release for surgery.

My right foot is showing so much improvement that I am finding new problems. One thing gets fixed or better, and another one pops up. My toes are tight and need to do exercises to stretch them, the front of my calf has the same problem, and who knows what else we’ll find as time goes on, but it’s getting better. I’ve reduced pain meds, though, which is definitely a plus, but now I’m going to have to take them for my left foot. It’s just Motrin, nothing strong.

School has been hard. Okay, not hard, just a lot. I have been struggling to manage everything, but I’ve pretty much reached the end. It feels good to be tying things up, and I can’t wait for the break. I don’t have to write any more complete short stories, unless I don’t have enough for my chapbook. I just have revisions and a few articles to read for one class. I’m looking forward to the break.

That’s it for me right now. I have work to do before I can enjoy my birthday tomorrow and listen to the critiques on my story. Have a good week!
