Spring Break!

This week is spring break from school. I still have work, but I get a little break from school. I mean little. My list of to-dos is long. Okay, not long, but it’s a lot of reading. I have half of The Stonehenge Letters, The Rings of Saturn, and Brief Interviews with the Romantic Past to read, along with critiquing two stories and writing a flash fiction piece. I also have a book presentation to do in about a week on The Stonehenge Letters. I may not be going to class, but I’ll be doing a crap ton of reading over the next week. I’m hoping to finish one and get a jump on another today.

I’ve also had to start thinking about classes for the fall. My work schedule doesn’t allow me to take time off for classes, so I’m seeing if I can take the same classes as this past fall with different topics. I know one is fine, but the other I’m not sure of. I’ve reached out to my advisor and haven’t heard back yet. I’m hoping to hear back soon.

My personal life has been limited. Because it is spring break, I tried getting some things done around the house that I’ve been slacking on. I cleaned my washer and dishwasher, filled up my fish tanks, and cleaned out the drain to my bathtub. Not the most thrilling things to do, but I needed to do it.

My foot. I had my foot appointment, and I’m being sent for another MRI of my lumbar spine, and the ball has been thrown into the chiropractor’s court. The MRI showed tendonosis in multiple tendons, arthritis in my pinky toe, a ganglion cyst, bursitis, and two types of plantar fasciitis. For those of you who don’t know, because I didn’t, tendonosis is the step past tendonitis. Meaning my tendons are screwed up. He repeated multiple times that the good thing is nothing’s torn. I didn’t know that was a possibility. I met with my chiropractor, and we have a plan. I go twice a week for adjustments and laser therapy. She thinks she can help, but it’s going to take a long time, and I need to be consistent. I also have to do daily exercises to get strength in both feet. We’ll see how everything goes. Surgery is still planned, but we’re doing the MRI first. I want to wait a little bit for it so the podiatrist can reevaluate my foot after some treatment.

So that’s been my week: reading, doctors, and work. Fun. That’s also next week. See you later!
