This week has been a bit of a challenge. I went to class on Monday, and my check engine light came on while driving home. Class was fine, at least, other than being a little tired because I was still getting ready for bed, and it was Monday at work. I was scrambling on Tuesday to get my reading done for school on Thursday because I didn’t know what Wednesday was going to bring. Wednesday brought a half day of work, a doctor’s appointment for my stupid sinuses, a mammogram (ladies get the girls checked regularly) and bone density scan, trying to track down the prescription my doctor sent in, and driving to Salisbury to listen to a reading, before driving home and trying to do more reading because I didn’t get as much done while waiting for appointments as I thought. I did finish my reading on Thursday morning and was almost late for work because of it. Once I made it through Thursday, I was just kind of at the point of being done. I was tired, customers at work were tiring, and I just needed to breathe. I decided I wasn’t going to leave my house on Saturday, which the closest I came to doing that was stepping outside to grab a package and getting Scarlett in from her fenced in area.
I ended up spending yesterday sleeping, which I needed, reading, and writing. I have fallen in love with the book I picked for my project. The goal is to read 50 pages per week, and I had to force myself to put the book down so I could do other work. The book is called The Stonehenge Letters if anyone is interested. The reviews are interesting, but if you ignore them, you will get sucked in. I was also working on a project for my Fiction Class, where I take an image from the archive at school and write a story. The image is an old, rounded structure with “water works” scrawled on it. I ended up writing about a girl at a dance who was ditched, and another guy swooped in to rescue her. It’ll never be anything other than added to my other assignment, but it was an interesting thing to do.
My bed. I’m sure you’ve been on the edge of your seat waiting for an update on it. It took a few nights for me to adjust, but I think part of that was because of the cold weather. I did find that if I go to bed a little earlier and read to help warm up the bed with my body heat, then it’s softer. I’ve started doing that, and I’m not so cold when I go to bed. I think because I keep my house so cold at 67 during the day and 65 at night to save on the electric bill, it makes the mattress colder. Once it warms up, though, I don’t think I’m going to have that problem anymore. I keep my house at 76 when it’s warm.
Well, I’m going back at it and working on my reading and stories I have to write. Have a great week everyone!
