So, my life has been a little busy, to say the least. I have been working, getting ready for Comic-Con, working on school, and getting ready for my friend to visit. I also had the bright idea of hosting Thanksgiving in my new house. Well, it’s been fun.
I haven’t had much time to really relax. I did decorate for Christmas early (that is not something I normally do, but with my friend coming in less than 2 weeks, I wanted to get my Christmas movies in). My trees look a little odd because they are small and live, so not holding the ornaments the best, but they work. Next year I want to fill my house with more Christmas, but I’ll have to settle for what I have for now. All I can say is that it’s mine and I like it.
I am getting items ready to sell for Ocean City Comic-Con, including stickers and coasters. I’ve also been getting things of my photography ordered to sell, in addition to my books. I love going to OC Comic-Con and I’ve been going every year since it started. I also get to hang out with my friend, selling things. I also found out my neighbor for the event is someone I love being next to. They have amazing art work and we get along great. You can’t beat that in table neighbors.
School, well, I can’t tell if I’m procrastinating because I don’t want it to be over or because I don’t particularly love painting. Once I get started, I enjoy it, but it’s hard for me to get started. This is my last project though. My last project, my last assignment for my bachelor’s. My next project to tackle is getting into grad school. That’s going to be a huge tackle, especially trying to get into my dream school. It’s going to be the only one I apply to because I really want to get in (stupid, I know). I’m also going to tackle finding a job in my field. I think that is going to be the hardest.
December 12th-15th are going to be some very great and very busy days. The 12th brings my friend from Europe to visit, the 13th (Friday the 13th of all days) brings my graduation, and the 14th-15th brings OC Comic-Con. All wonderful things coming to me, but all at once.
I know a lot of people complain about 2024, well, they complain about every year, saying the next has to be better and all of the horrible things that have happened to them. I will not be one of them. I may have had some bad things happen to me this year, but everyone has. What I will remember is finishing my bachelor’s, getting a house, the freedom of living on my own for the first time in my life, and my best friend coming to visit. While my list of good is life changing, there are also some little things in my life to remember, such as my dog settling into my new house and thriving, starting a new hobby (fish) and loving it, reaching my goal weight, my bonsai still being alive, paying off credit cards (then wracking up more debt), paying off my car, improving my drawing/painting skills, and surviving another year. So for those of you who think 2024 was an awful year, try to remember the little things that were good in your life.
